How do you encourage your coho kids to participate in coho activities and responsibilities?
In speaking with friends at other cohos, it seems some cohos have really active youth engagement, while others have almost none.
Here at Sonora, we have an active homeschooling group, and 1-2 of the older kids are volunteers on teams and even start their own ad hoc projects, willingly going through the whole process of proposals and meetings.
But at a meeting recently at a neighboring coho, the topic came up and our hostess said that some people moving in are not fully engaged as adults, and even among those who are, they're reluctant to "force" their kids to participate on teams. (To be fair, this is a larger and urban cohousing with a higher turnover of renters.)
Do you have any tips for getting kids involved? What types of activities do kids love?
