When I moved to Sonora Cohousing in Tucson (and I LOVE it here!) the one thing I missed, coming from CA wine country, was the camaraderie of people seriously interested in learning about wine. Most people here don't drink at all (gasp) and when they do, it's a quick $3 grab from Trader Joe's. So, after a year of feeling lonely, I started a Meetup group with a combined wine-and-book theme, and BAM! it hit the 50 people limit in 3 days!
I hold the meets in our Community House, and it attracts people from all over Tucson. Everyone is curious about cohousing and eager to meet other residents. And, as often happens, now that we are clearly having fun (we often spill outside into the courtyard) other people here want to "stop by" and check it out. Sometimes you just have to go for it!

Oh, and we do monthly varietal themes geared to the seasons, so lighter wines in warmer weather, reds when it's colder.
