We have two lambs! They will be pets and professional lawnmowers in the areas under the taller trees where it's shady but difficult to mow.
We'll have them sheared occasionally by a local farmer who knows what he's doing. I'm wondering what to do with the wool that won't involve special equipment or hours of stamping, beating, carding or spinning. We'll wash and comb the lambs/sheep before shearing and leave them on fresh grass for 2-3 days before the shearing so the lanolin has a chance to flow again.
I'm thinking of filling a wooden box with clean, combed wool for storing my greenhouse and garden implements, to protect them from rust. Sort of a take on the colonial pincushions stuffed with wool, which prevented the pins from rusting.

Any ideas that would be appropriate for quick demonstrations or 4-H projects would be greatly appreciated.
